It was in wildflower mix I bought for 1.00. all of the others were relatively small-and familiar, but this species is large and kinda neat.

lol I know. It hasn't flowered yet, but by the distinctive thin-bushy leaves I thought someone may be able to identify it. They're very soft to the touch, too.
There are no flowers visible in your photo, but the needle shaped leaves look like Cosmos.
EDIT: Cosmos leaves are soft needle shaped and the plant will grow to about 8 feet tall.
Wild Flower Seeds Where can I find wild flower seeds cheap?
I have a 2 acre lot in northern aroostook county maine (near canada) and would like to seed the whole parcel with wild flowers native to the area. The summers are short with long cold winters dipping well below zero. I have checked around and the cost for the seeds would run from $400.00 to $800.00 for 4 to 8 pounds. This is a bit pricey for my budget. Please help.

don't know if there is a dollar store in your area but dollar stores offer one box that contain-es some hundred different kind of seeds I'm not good at math but remember alot of plants will reseed themselves therefore giving you the opportunity to spread the seeds where you want to make a beautiful display

Lupine Seeds...?
I bought some lupine seeds yesterday and was wondering if it's ok to start them in small peat pots. I know with the peat pots you can plant those directly into the ground. I was just wondering if this is a good time to start the seeds and wait 6 to 8 weeks before planting in the ground. I live in the east bay of San Francisco bay area and we tend to have nicer springs, sometimes warm, and pretty warm summers.
I also bought some "California" wild flower seeds that have a mixture of different kinds- I was thinking of just sprinkling those over a particular area I have in mind.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!!!

Yes, go ahead and start those seeds any time now. Since they've got a tough, hard shell, you may wish to soak them overnight before planting.
Peat-pots are a great idea for lupines, since they HATE to be transplanted! They develop quite a long root, and since the peat-pot will decompose, you won't risk disturbing it.
Most varieties will not bloom the first year. But the following year, you'll be rewarded with those gorgeous pea-like flowers. Hint, Hon; lupines perform best in partial shade. And allow one or two of them to go to seed after they bloom; they're good self-sowers, and you'll have a nice little colony of them eventually.
I've done the wildflower mixture too. If they're perennials, take care to not allow a dominant species to take over. Other than that, I think you'll enjoy the natural effect of the native species
Purple Coneflower Seed IF I plant Purple coneflower seed in late May is that too late?
I live in North Carolina (zone 6b)
Also, how long does it take them to grow from seed?
When should they bloom and for how long?
I started Cone flower and Shasta Daisy seeds in mid June last year, and the plants were strong enough to be planted on there own by fall.
I started mine in a planter box so that I could plant the best plants where I wanted them when they were ready for transplanting.
Bear in mind that cone flowers are perennials, so they won't bloom until the second year. They will usually bloom in June and bloom for a couple of months.

How many hours of sunlight does purple coneflower need?
and when should you plant the seeds?
our last frost date is April 15.
I JUST READ THAT THEY WILL ADAPT TO PART SHADE. ANYBODY WITH THIS EXPERIENCE?
ALSO, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE THEM TO GROW FROM SEED TO FLOWER?
IF I PUT THEM OUT AROUND MAY 22 , WILL I HAVE ENOUGH TIME?
Echinacea purpurea needs full sun. You should start seeds indoors in a peat tray ,planting them outside around May 1 to be safe. Do know that first year perennials often do not flower. You may consider buying some at your local nursery to supplement if you want color this year. And remember to amend your soil before planting(organics are best ) as Coneflowers like a rich , well drained soil.
Flower Seeds Wildflower Seeds Can I plant a flower in a big mug?
They are a handful perennial wildflower seeds and the mug is the size of a toilet paper roll. Do you think the ceramic mug is big enough?
You're probably going to end up with too many plants for the mug but you can thin them out as they sprout. If these seeds are different varieties of flowers some may be too large for the container. Be sure to put some pebbles or something similar in the bottom of the mug before adding the soil for better drainage since there is no drain hole in the bottom of your "pot". It should be cute.
