Cypress Vine Cypress vine and morning glory live peacefully together?
Hello! I live in zone 6. I love my morning glories all over the fence in the summer, but not the bare look of the fence after I take them down. I was considering planting cypress vines (saw they are hardy to my zone). Can the two live peacefully togetherr?
cypress will have to come down, too.... I grow them together here in zome 7b and they are goners with the first frost....actually before, since I tend to remove them before the whole plant sets seed!!.... they do grow nicely together, tho....
when it says this vine is 'hardy' to zone 6, it just means that the seed will survive the winter chills....
"Hardiness: USDA Zones 6 - 11. Plant this annual vine in spring. Cypress-vine is naturalized as far north as USDA Zone 6 (5?). "
if you still plant them together, try to keep them separate in the early season... otherwise, the glories will get a head start, shade out the cypress and it will be late really getting going.....
It's in the same family and I haven't grown one before.......but since I get morning glory plants every year from seeds dropped, I was wondering if the cypress vine did the same thing.
anyone have that experience?
Both great answers! (Pondlady and Jasper) Thank You!
Have they attracted Hummingbirds for you too?
You will have more cypress vines than you thought possible, but they are just as pretty no matter where they come up.
Does anyone know of a vine that would grow well in a shady area? There is very little sunlight in a corner by my house and I would like to get a vine to grow in there and have a few shorter plants and flowers but so far haven't been able to find a vine that likes shade. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Also, Another question. We have a morning glory vine, Should we trim it back for the winter or just leave it alone? I really don't want to kill it because it is beautiful. Thanks everyone!
Haha I just read that a morning glory is an annual plant so I guess never mind about the second question
Clematis and climbing hydrangea both do well in shade (little sun)
Some morning glories are perennial
Google clematis vine
climbing hydrangea
morning glory perennial
You should find enough information here to help you
I'm wanting to plant Morning Glories as a remembrance of my dad. They were his favorite flower and he called me his little Humming Bird (as gifts he would order me Humming Bird statues). Humming Birds are attracted to Morning Glories so it's a win win situation. When is the best time to plant these beautiful flower vines?
Hello, I am a professional grower we own several large organic farms growing 1000s of glory vines. I would recommend germinating indoors right away so that you can transplant them outdoors by last frost, so around early/mid spring. Give the seeds about 6 weeks to germinate and sprout before transplanting. I've offered a link to our growing instructions (for one strain but you can follow this advice for any Ipomoea) and also I've provided a link for the rare "Blue Star" it is one of the most amazing of the Ipomoea tricolors... gorgeous and rare!
You can always contact us if you need more advice!
Trailing Vine Dream help. Wicked dream, need to know meaning.?
Ok, Last week I had this weird dream. I was sitting my a stream on a sandy beach looking at sun bleached Magic cards (MTG). Then my mom came along to come and get me and I saw a friend I had in a pervious dream. Well he had like a hiking pack on and he look down, so i said, "What's up? How you doing?". and he just walked past me. Then he turned around and said, "sorry I didn't mean to be rude like that, will you forgive me?",then I said, "yea I don't care". Then more guys dressed like him came from a trail and started picking some type of flower on a vine. Then I said, "Oh it's harvest time". well then I woke up. Those two words have been bugging me and I can't stop thinking about it "harvest time". What does it mean? Please help.
maby something you ate the night before kinda got to you..
who knows some of us all have weird dreams that may be pointless and probably doesnt matter..iam guessing it means absolutely nothing!
I'm at the level "On the Trail of the Treasure" in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.?
I'm at a dead end at some ledges with a vine next to them. I can never get from the vine to the next ledge. How am I supposed to do that? Yes, I've tried wallrunning.

Lily Vine My 4th grade son has this question on his science homework. Can anyone in Tennessee help us.?
For each of the plants listed below, describe one adaptation it has and tell how the adaptation helps the plant.
1. Vine-
2. Cactus-
3. Water lily-
He is in the Obion County School System in Tennessee.
Vine wraps around stuff and helps them grow tall
Cactus stores a lot of water so they can live in dry places
water lily has adapted to little sunlight they can live in water
