Plants And Flowers Can any one suggest some nice plants/flowers to plant in front of my privacy fence?
I would like to plant some plants/flowers in front of my privacy fence. I am just not sure what would be the best thing to plant. There is very little sun in the morning and a lot of sun in the afternoon. I was thinking of a climbing plant but I don't know anything about those either.
For a climbing plant I would suggest Star Jasmine. It is evergreen and blooms in late spring/early summer and smells heavenly. Or, you could plant Cosmos. They are easy to grow and get fairly tall. If you grow these, it would be a good idea to put in corner stakes and hang netting between to hold the tall plants upright. Plant the seeds fairly thick. They will grow through the netting and hide it and the stakes. They are really airy looking and have large, colorful flowers shaped like daisies. Beautiful. Both of these plants love full sun.

I am looking for flowers/plants that are easy to grow/maintain that have a nice strong smell. My neighbour's yard smells constantly of dog urine & dog poo, and I want to plant flowers/plants that will help block out the smell. (I am aware that nothing except getting them to clean the dog dirt up will get rid of the smell but I just need something to help)
mint would be great for this. plus, you can run a mower over it without hurting it and really get a long lasting mint smell. a string trimmer works well also. it is very invasive though. dont put it anywhere near anything you dont want taken over by the mint. you could keep it in pots also.

i wouldn't wear it . you would look like a bumble bee, lol. what i would do if you want to do it that way, is maybe incorporate other colors into it as well.. like go to the store and get a scarf that will have black and yellow in it, but also some other colors.. then when you do that, be sure to get the shoes in the other color that is on the scarf. and maybe incorporate some jewerly that would fit with the "new" color.

English and western would be personal choice. Western is more relaxed. Neither is really more dangerous than the other. My mother taught western when I was a child yet paid for English lessons for me. It was her belief if you could master English, Western was a snap. I can ride both but prefer bareback. (I only ride for recreation and have known my horse since he was born 28 years ago) English is definitely harder to master. If you decide jumping is in order always where a hard hat! Jumping can be dangerous! Give English a try. If you don't like it go back to Western. You only have experience to gain!

What I mean is that some plants you can cut part of it off and put in wanter and it will start to root. Is the Hawaiian Schefflera the same way??
Yes, you can. Here's a web-page that gives you fairly complicated instructions on rooting a schefflera, but I've had success just cutting off a piece and sticking it in water. Good luck.
