Pepper Pot Seeds

How many times do I transplant plants grown from seeds?
I am growing annuals, tomatos, and peppers. I started the seeds in Jiffy's non-soil mix in peat pots. The seeds germinated very well. Can I grow the seedlings/plants in the non-soil mix for the next 6 weeks until I harden them off and plant them outside, or do I need to transplant them to a soil mix now and then transplant them to the garden in 6 weeks?
You didn't say what area you live in so I will assume that you are in an area with cold weather.
You will need to transplant your plants according to whether the roots are growing thru the pots.
As for the tomatoes, the following info depends on how tall they are & how many true leaves they have.
When you transplant them you can cut off all leaves and branches up to the very top pair of leaves & then plant the entire stem {now bare of leaves} in dirt up to the top of the leaves that are left. An alternative {good for short season areas since the roots heat up quicker} is to remove the leaves & branches as stated & then to lay sideways in the soil or pot up to the leaves {once again, put soil on the entire stem area} and then make a "pillow" of dirt for the top leaves & stem to lay on. {it will straighten up as it grows}
This will make a much stronger plant, toms will grow roots all along the stem that is under soil so I usually transplant several times. {deeper each time}
At the final transplant, in the garden I usually dig as deep as possible & add manure to the bottom of the hole then backfill with soil and plant the tom as deep as possible. If you are going to put in stakes for support do it at this time.
Another good practice is to spray all your garden plants every 2 to 3 months with a mix of 3 Tbsp of epsom salts to a gal of warm water, good for entire plant and all plants from roses to tom's and a good emergency treatment for any plant that starts turning yellow.
When holding the plants to move them around in pots, try holding onto a leaf instead of the stem, if a leaf gets ripped or broken it will regrow but the stem is a different story!
Don't transplant outside until the night temps stay above 50.

Aerogarden Chili Pepper Seed kit and Other Various Seedlings Video Part 3
Why aren't my seeds growing?
I planted cucumber, tomato, green bean, banana pepper, watermelon and pumpkin seeds into starter pots over 2 months ago, and the only ones sprouted are the tomato plants, and they're only about 1 inch tall. Why won't my seeds sprout and is there something to speed up the process? They are in a warm, sunny location and constantly watered.
Too deep, too shallow, too much water, too little water, not warm enough, not enough sun
