Lavender Flowers What are the best flowers for lavender/green wedding bouquets?
I'm getting married in June and am trying to decide what flowers to have. Our colors are lavender, ivory, and a soft emerald green. I would like flowers that are elegant, but not extremely formal. I would also like the bouquets to be medium to small size and not too heavy. Ideally, the bridesmaid bouquets will have more ivory (but still with some color), while mine will be more colorful (minimal ivory). What are your recommendations?
You could use lavender flowers, they smell nice and actually have ceremonial meanings(use to be carried to ward off negative spirits and bless the union) Fressia's,and purple roses are beautiful. Lilacs also make a wonderful bouquet.
I have loads of Lavender bushes in my garden, and each one has different flowers surrounding it.
There are two of them which look very pretty with white spray carnations in between them, and multi pale coloured aquilegias which go on and on if you dead head regularly, and beneath the lavender I have a sprawling campanula which is called Baby Blue eyes, which is double rose shaped miniature variety.
Another two bushes have a climbing mop head pink rose behind , with scabious between at the front, and Black Barlow Aquilegia between.Along with White, and Pink Spray carnations.
The Lavender in the front garden are very large, one has honeysuckle weaving around and through. The others have Red Roses beside and behind, with hollyhocks which will when out are almost black, behind the roses. Underneath the lavender bushes, are beautiful rounded cushions of Oregano with their bright green foliage.
