My boyfried's vegan Help?

I'm the total opposite of my bf, especially when it comes to diet. He's a vegan and pretty adamant about it. All his kitchen has his nuts and seeds, fruit, veggies, potatoes, soy products, rices, noodles and vegan pasta, tofu, vegan sushi, soup, wholemeal bread, and mock meats. Mine is stocked full of steaks, hamburgers, hotdogs, pork, chicken, turkey, eggs, fish and seafood, milk, all that good stuff.

We're talking about moving in with each other, but I'm sure he won't let any meat into where we would live. And I can't survive of those faux meats, I LOVE the real thing. What should I do/say to him?

It depends. To you, it might seem like he's asking you to give up something that you greatly enjoy. To him, it probably seems like like you're asking him to abandon his ethics.

If you so greatly enjoy animal products (to the exclusion of eating plant-based foods), this relationship likely has no long-term potential.

If he knows that you eat meat and dairy and hasn't tried to get you to stop, then he probably won't ask you to give it up outside of the home. For example, he'd probably be okay with you eating whatever the heck you wanted outside of the house. To him, meat and animal by-products don't even seem like food. He likely is as upset by cow meat or pig meat as he would be if you stuck a dead, skinned cat or puppy in the fridge.

Take this opportunity to discuss the importance of meat with him. If it is merely a question of pleasure, and you're not willing to go without when you are at home, then you might need to re-think this relationship.

Successful Methods Of Real Estate Lead Generation

Acquiring leads is the single most important and difficult
aspect of the real estate business. Without a lead, there is no
client, so all realtors dedicate a significant amount of time to
collecting contact information and establishing relationships
with potential prospects.

There are many ways to generate leads, all of them with their
respective advantages and disadvantages. Whether traditional or
modern, it's well worth your time and effort to try each one
until you find the best combination that is expense-effective,
time-saving and successful.

This articles aims to discuss the most common methods, the
decision ultimately belonging to you.

For the sake of organization, we have split lead generation
methods into two large groups: traditional methods (printing
materials, phone and mail advertising, networking and others)
and modern methods, that take advantage of the continuous growth
of the importance of internet for home buyers and sellers.

Traditional methods

Use your friends

If your friends don't trust you enough to do business with you,
then who will? So talk to them about their real estate plans,
get their contact information and ask for referrals and
testimonials. Your friends have other friends and family as
well, so this circle will keep expanding with a domino-like
effect. You might even get 100 names or so, at the very least
and they will come with a trust factor already in place.

The disadvantage? There are many people that believe in keeping
business and personal life separate, so they might refuse
dealing with you professionally for various reasons. However,
you can still ask them for information and feed-back, even help
if the situation occurs.

Face-to-Face contact

This classic method involves basically going around the
neighborhood and knocking on doors. Stay for a short chat, let
the people know you and in the same time, you will get to know
them. Don't use the aggressive approach ("Hello, do you want to
sell/buy a house? Then come to me, the greatest realtor on this
side of the Atlantic."). You're not a door-to-door salesman.
Farming a community is a long-time process.

So start slow, explain that you wish to become the trusted
neighborhood realtor. Ask for information, let them tell about
their experience with other realtors, their plans for the
future. The idea is to introduce yourself first and foremost.
Then ask if they wouldn't be interested in getting a monthly
newsletter or printed material with useful information of
general interest or specific information about buying or
selling. If they say yes, then your effort paid off. Take their
contact information (email, phone number) and continue to keep
in touch, coming back to chat every two months or so and
regularly sending them the promised leaflets or emails.

Disadvantage? It's time consuming most of all.

Networking

First of all, what is networking? Networking is the process of
finding out about potential clients from friends, business
contacts, co-workers, acquaintances, and fellow members in
professional and civic organizations. Sounds simple enough. But
where do you go to practice your networking skills?

Well, there are various opportunities from family gatherings, to
business cocktails, to seminars, conventions or presentations.
The important factor is to determine whether you will find
possible leads at these events. For example, you are sure to
find people interested in getting in touch with a realtors at a
neighborhood barbecue or an open house but less so at a medical
congress.

Be sure to bring plenty of business cards and brochures.

And remember, networking is about planting seeds. Do not expect
to find the next big deal, instead nurture a possibility of a
collaboration at some point in time.

Cold calling

Cold calling involves basically plowing through a list of phone
numbers and hoping that the people that don't slam the receiver
right away might be willing to meet with you. It's not a method
we recommend. It might have been efficient in the past, but
today's consumers have no wish to waste their time listening to
someone blabbering advertising text on the phone. This is
especially true where real estate is concerned. Who wants to
entrust their home over the phone?

Still, there might be some benefit to it, if you carefully
choose your target. So, if you decide to do it, we recommend you
treat it like a real conversation. Instead of reciting memorized
scripts, recognize that there's a person at the other end of the
line and talk to them normally. Sell yourself and try to get an
appointment that way, don't sell your services. Or give them the
URL of your website or article page and then let them decide if
they want to get in touch.

Direct mail

Direct mail is also know as mass mailing and involves sending
your sales letter or brochure to a targeted mailing list. It's
usually pretty efficient in getting your name out there, though
it can cost quite a lot, since the best response rate is around
1%.

The key is to make your letter stand out against all the other
junk mail your targets receive. Be sure to write your sales
letter with the client in mind. Instead of detailing your great
skills, try to address their concerns and give them a possible
solution. This will give them the reason to contact you, which
is your primary goal.

Take great care of the appearance of the envelope and the
contents. They need to look as professional and as official as
possible. You need to create a serious, trustworthy image.

You can always try postcards instead of letters. One of the most
important advantages of this method is the direct impact. Your
targets will see the attractive design immediately. Use creative
and compelling copy on the back and include testimonials if you
have the space. The text, combined with the appropriate visuals
will increase the possibility of your postcard being read.

Don't forget to ask your recipients to take action. It's a
detail many forget. Ask them to contact you or to visit your
website.

Direct mail can be also used to keep in touch with your
prospects and the neighborhood you are farming. Remember,
constancy is tantamount in building and keeping trust. Also, you
need to contact your target as many as eight times before they
will consider doing business with you.

Business cards

Your business cards, often overlooked, can be a very effective
means of collecting leads. Beside your contact information, you
can also include on the back: pitch phrases, your website's URL,
a call to action, a freebie offer and many more.

Try to make your card stand out. That way, you will ensure it
does not end up in the trash.

Modern methods

These modern methods have appeared with the advance of internet.
More and more homebuyers and sellers use the web to acquire
information.

Direct marketing (email)

Email marketing is very similar to classical direct marketing,
except instead of paper you use electronic text. The greatest
difference? It's FREE. And you can change the design and content
as often as you like.

Email can also be used with a feed-back form. It's much likelier
to have your targets whip up a quick email with a couple of
questions than write a letter, or even give a call.

You can use it to offer a free gift such as an e-book, or free
courses or a chance to subscribe to your newsletter.

It's easier than you might think. Draw from your experience and
you'll be sure to obtain a good result. You can also take

Having a website will ensure you have a 24 hour connection with
your prospects. Include information about yourself, showcase
your listings, put up testimonials and of course, lots of
quality information with your special insider's tips.

Don't forget to add a subscription box for your newsletter.

No matter which methods you will end up using, remember these
three important aspects:

1. Even if it's ultimately about you, always develop an approach
that is about them. In other words, your targets do not care how
great you are, they only want to know what's in it for them.

2. Your primary goal is to acquire contact information (name,
address, phone number, email address) and the permission to use
them. That way, you will ensure your leads are actually
valuable, being people genuinely interested in doing business
with you.

3. Always follow up. The results of an one-time campaign of any
kind are very low and the impact decreases exponentially

Well, I have some doubts and questions regarding this UNODC- because they estimate that the global retail market for drugs is approximately $780 billion per year!
Does it exist such thing as "the Anti-Drug Intelligence Community Team"? Is DEA recognizing that interactive cooperation and coordination with Mexican federal agents is fundamental and key to our success in combating drug trafficking organizations operating within the U.S.?

Is DEA and CIA preventing bulk drug shipments from moving further into the transportation chain where fragmentation occurs, in most instances on our maritime & terrestrial borders: In communist Cuba ( maritime borders ) and the Mexican side of the Southwest Border ( terrestrial borders )?

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is a global organism in the fight against illicit drugs and international crime. Established in 1997 through a merger between the United Nations Drug Control Programme and the Centre for International Crime Prevention, UNODC operates in all regions of the world through an extensive network of field offices.

The international community should recognize that the current approach to international drug policy has failed. Concrete steps should be taken to set forth a drug policy framework incorporating evidence-based measures to address drug-related harm and the human rights obligations of states, and of the UN as an international organization, at its heart. This means supporting harm reduction measures. It means acknowledging that punitive drug policies don't work, and have taken a serious toll on the lives and health of millions of people. It also means acknowledging that we need a new way forward.

The groups called on member states not to lend their names to a political declaration that does not sufficiently prioritize the centrality of harm reduction and human rights within the global response to drugs, and join the call from other civil society organizations for further efforts across the UN system to find a more effective, coherent, and relevant response to drugs.

Mexican Military to use armed UAV’s to track and kill the Mexican Drug cartel's leadership

During the recent three amigo’s meeting held in Mexico between the three heads of state a secret plan was hatched. The Journal has learned from a high ranking Mexican military officer who says he must remain anonymous reports that Mexican President Calderon asked President Obama for armed drones to track down and kill the MDC’s leadership and to help in surveillance of norco-traffing and have scensors on board that will be able to track targets as small as a human carrying a weapon. The Mexican president indicated it should be part of a new effort to a lot more money and resources for Mexico. The Merida Initiative, a three-year, $1.4 billion assistance program passed by Congress to help Mexico fight drug trafficking.

The Merida Initiative is expected to be increased to help Mexico to fight the out of control civil war which is responsible for so many deaths. Since January 2007, a staggering eleven thousand people have died in drug-related violence in Mexico. That's more than double the number of Americans killed in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001. Savage gunfights among heavily-armed drug cartels have spiraled out of control and has spill across the border into the U.S.

Nearly all the world's cocaine originates with coca plants grown in South America -- and ninety percent of the "coke" that ends up on our streets travels to the U.S. through Mexico. Eighty percent of the methamphetamine consumed by Americans is produced there. Our southern neighbor is also the main foreign supplier of marijuana. According to Mexican Attorney General Eduardo Medina-Mora, "at least $10 billion in bulk cash" related to drug trafficking "crosses the U.S.-Mexican border each year" -- meaning that narco-dollars are nearly on par with tourism which produces about $13 billion annually for Mexico.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, narco-terrorists connected to Mexican drug cartels have already infiltrated 230 American cities.
The Journal has also learned that Canada had already asked for unmanned aerial vehicles, also known as UAV’s or drones and at that same meeting details of that purchase was discussed. What many people don’t know is that the Canadian military already operates the Sperwer UAV’s in Afghanistan and so far has spent around $250 million on that system. It also operates smaller drones for use with army units, similar to the types that Mexico wants.

On the first of April, in a tribal area of Pakistan not far from the Afghan border, a small missile screamed through the sky and exploded into a house where a band of suspected Taliban militants were camped. The assumed culprit: a Predator drone aircraft controlled by the Central Intelligence Agency.

To fight its wars this decade, the U.S. has increasingly relied on unmanned aerial vehicles, for tracking and hunting down insurgents, drones have become an invaluable asset for the US military in Iraq and Afghanistan.
ICE now operates UAV’s along the U.S. Mexican border.

While the military uses UAVs from a variety of contractors the current king of the armed drone makers is a private San Diego firm, General Atomics. Its subsidiary, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, makes the Predator and Reaper drones that comprise the U.S. Air Force's entire armed UAV fleet, according to an Air Force official.

Attorney General Eric Holder said the cartels "are lucrative, they are violent, and they are operated with stunning planning and precision."

DEA Acting Administrator Michele Leonhart said the Sinaloa cartel has become one of the largest organized crime operations in the world.
 
The same military officer said that Mexico is currently in talks with contractors one of which he believes is Blackwater, now formally known as Xe (pronounced Zee) Services,   New York Times reported Friday that the company that used to be known as Blackwater has taken over from the Central Intelligence Agency the job of arming the agency's Predator drones that patrol over Afghanistan.

It stands to reason if Blackwater, now formally assemble and load Hellfire missiles and laser-guided bombs onto the pilotless aircraft in secret bases in Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan forn the U.S. Government than it stands to reason that Mexico would want the same services. Although CIA employees fire the drones' weaponry from the agency's headquarters in Langley, Va., the Times reports this development reflects how much the agency "now depends on outside contractors to perform some of the agency’s most important assignments."

Current and former CIA employees told the Times that Blackwater's assignment of assembling bombs for the drones led to disputes between the company and the spy agency. If a Predator missed a target, CIA employees would sometimes blame Blackwater employees for the mistake, the Times reported.

"In one instance last year recounted by the employees, a 500-pound bomb dropped off a Predator before it hit the target, leading to a frantic search for the unexploded bomb in the remote Afghan-Pakistani border region," the Times reported. "It was eventually found about 100 yards from the original target."

This article builds on the Times stories in Thursday's editions that the CIA hired Blackwater for a secret program to find and kill high-value targets in al Qaeda. The program did not lead to the deaths of any Qaeda operatives and CIA Director Leon Panetta ended it shortly after learning about its existence.
Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, immediately south of neighboring El Paso, Texas, is arguably the most dangerous municipality in the Americas. The mayor, José Reyes Ferriz, told me that in the last twelve months more than 1,600 of his citizens have been murdered as his city became the epicenter of a vicious "turf war" among rival drug cartels vying for a larger slice of the lucrative "drug delivery business." When he called for help, President Calderon sent in the only force he could trust: the Mexican Army. Retired military officers now run the city police force and joint military/police units patrol the streets. Even this hasn't stopped the bloodbath. Last month more than 240 people perished in this murderous metropolis.    The Mayor says something drastic needs to be done and he supports segments of the proposed UAV’s program.

Cooking the best Thai Green Curry

The features of the best Thai Green Curry are prime chunks of tender chicken simmered in a homemade green curry sauce along with fresh, healthy vegetables. This recipe is made different by making the Green Curry paste yourself. The result is a gourmet-style aromatic Thai green curry and beautiful to serve. The key to a good green curry is in not only using the right ingredients, but knowing when to add them. Only use small pieces or cuts of chicken, this allows for faster cooking and the freshest possible taste. Preparation time is 25 minutes and cooking is about 20. SERVES 2-3 Ingredients:

1. 1 to 1.5 lbs. boneless chicken thigh or breast, cut into chunks
2. 8 kaffir lime leaves (can be purchased at most Asian food stores)
3. A handful of fresh basil
4. 1 can coconut milk
5. 1 red bell pepper, de-seeded and cut into chunks
6. 1 cucumber, sliced lengthwise, then cut into chunks
7. 2 Tbsp. Sunflower oil

GREEN CURRY PASTE:

1. 4 small green Thai chillies
2. 1/4 cup shallot, diced
3. 4 cloves garlic, minced
4. 1/2 stalk lemongrass, sliced thinly
5. 1+1/2 tsp. ground coriander
6. 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves and stems, chopped
7. 1 thumb-size piece galangal (Thai ginger), grated
8. 1 tsp. ground white pepper (can be purchased at some supermarkets, OR at Asian food stores)
9. 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
10. 2 Tbsp. fish sauce, plus more to taste
11. 1 tsp. shrimp paste (or one extra Tbsp of fish sauce if unavailable)
12. 1 tsp. sugar

Preparation:

1. Prepare the chicken and chop the bell pepper and cucumber.
2. Prepare the lime leaves by tearing the leaf away from either side of the stem. Discard the central stem. Then, using scissors, cut the lime leaves into thin strips. Reserve.
3. Take the "Green Curry paste" ingredients and in a mortar and pestle, or food processor, make a paste. If necessary, add a few Tbsp. of the coconut milk to help blend ingredients. Set aside.
4. Heat up a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the oil and swirl around, then add the curry paste.
5. Stir-fry briefly to release the fragrance (30 seconds to 1 minute), then add 3/4 of the coconut milk). Stir well to mix in.
6. Add the chicken, stirring to incorporate. When the curry sauce comes to a boil, reduce heat to medium or medium-low, until you get a nice simmer.
7. Cover and allow to simmer 3-5 more minutes, or until chicken is cooked through. Stir occasionally.
8. Add the red bell pepper and cucumber, plus the strips of lime leaf, stirring well to incorporate. Simmer another 2-3 minutes, or until vegetables are softened but still firm and colourful.
9. Do a taste-test for salt, adding 1-2 Tbsp. fish sauce if not salty enough. If you'd prefer a sweeter curry, add a little more sugar. If too salty, add a squeeze of lime or lemon juice. If too spicy, add more coconut milk. Note that this curry should be a balance of salty, spicy, sweet and sour, plus bitter (the bitter is found in the fresh basil garnish).
10. Serve this curry in bowls with rice served separately, allowing guests to add their own. Top each portion with fresh basil, then drizzle over 2-3 Tbsp. coconut milk.

Does organic Eden Soy have sugar in it?

I read in the ingredients: Naturally malted organic wheat and barley extract. What is this???
Okay, I am not an idiot. I know that wheat and barley are not sugars! Gosh! It's the "malted" part that worries me. Have you people never heard of malted barley extract???

Marcella A-You don't have to be a jerk about it! Not to mention the fact that you can't even spell correctly! And you didn't even answer the question. Keep in mind, that the real "idiot" is the one who thinks that ALL health food is sugar free. And yes, Eden Soy does have added sugar in it. Pay no heed to these other ignoramuses. If you look at the EdenSoy's website, you will see that there is a brand that is specifically labeled "unsweetened," therefore all of the other ones must be sweetened.

Organic Wheat Grass and Play

is having natural organic PB on 2 slices of whole wheat toast be a good breakfast with a fruit?

...when maintain my goal weight at 106 lbs? i was 132. Usually i have kashi cereal or oatmeal with skim milk and a banana. 2 or 3 times our of the week i have a natural pb and sugarfree perserves sandwich on wheat(whole) for lunch. i only use 1 tblsp. should i increase to 2 tblsp the serving size(110 cals) to maintain my weight, i dont get many calories during the day cuz i dont eat junk food, i eat fruits, veggies, low fat cottage cheese, low fat cheese, fat free turkey, low fat yogurt ect. I dont want to gain but i dont want to lose any more.

i think that's a perfect meal. Try to incorporate some leafy greens into the diet. I'm a big fan of leafy greens.
