I want to know what this flower is.?


Can anyone tell me what kind of flower this is? I was told it is a moonflower but it isn't a vine. It gets to 8 to 12 inches tall. It looks similar to the devils trumpet but the leaves are different. It blooms at night then 2 or 3 days later dies and leaves a spikey seed pod. HELP!!!! I have pictures if that would help anyone. Thank you!!!!!!!! Here is the link to the picture. Can anyone help me identify what these lovely yellow flowers are?


Hi, these have turned up in my garden a few years ago (not sure if one or two were planted by previous tenant), but now I have large clumps of them, they seem to seed like mad. Have tried to find a picture of them on the net but have unsuccessful so far.

They are very long and are on stalks like a gladioli, half way up the stalk lots of little yellow flowers appear, they are about the size of a 1p coin they are a very pale yellow and have approx 6 little petals they get slightly darker to the middle of the flower where there appears to be a bright yellow stamen. They close at night into a trumpet shape and open in the morning. At the moment they are full of seeds and you just have to brush by and the seeds fall off.

i think your best bet is to go on line to the horticultural society, must say they do look a lovely flower could do with some of them in my garden

How do I find a gardener with a "vision"?


I just moved into a house in San Diego which has an amazing backyard with flowers, succulents, annuals, perennials, trees, and all sorts of beautiful plants. I need to find a gardener who can help me maintain the garden. This should be someone who is willing to get down and dirty: weed, prune, trim, replant and maintain the garden so it looks fresh. I need someone who has a plan, a vision, and a passion for his work. How / where can I find such a person? The current gardener is more of the "mow, blow, and go" type.

And how much will such a gardener cost: $50/month $100/month $200/month?

All you can do is call landscapers in the local phonebook and ask. Try Landscape Designers that offer continuing care. They usually have more vision than a lawn care company.

Locked my gaze upon distant and silent stars, pull them nearer
On this night first I tremble and my gaze trembles and the skies tremble
Veils of clouds lift away poetically, and the heavens are heavy.
Even the cosmos itself leans closer, as you lean closer to I;

Your breath is misted in ice cold air but I hold mine – and then –
Oh! My breath is lost entirely, given, I give in oh once more…
Under us the snow, above us the stars – they both struggle for

Any fraction of the brilliance I find in your bright eyes,
Lost I am lost in not the world around me but in you.
When the universe itself melts away, you your heat stay
And we are a curiosity for the celestial watchers to behold.

Where Can I Find Sweet Revenge Perfume?


I went to a hot topic about a year ago and found a perfume in a blue and black leopard print bottle and bought it for roughly $18.50. I thought it was quite expensive, but when i took it out of the box, the bottle was huge, and it smelled amazing. It smelled quite like blue cotton candy and bubble gum mixed. It lasted about a year and i wore it every single day. I went to Hot Topic.com and looked it up but it was gone. Is there anywhere I can buy 2 new bottles for about the same price?

what should i do about this huge problem?


hey all,anyway ive been with my gf for 2yrs and 9m mnths,and for the last year ive had mixed feelings towards her,like she is very conrolling,if i want to go out with my mates she tells me not to bother coming back home and she wont let me do anything with my mates,she sends me allot of txtmsgs when im out,there usually telling me dont go home,i hope u pick up 2nyt and stuff like that,im 21 and all i want to do is be single and have some fun! all my mates are single and loving it i feel as if im missing out on my youth because im stuck in a rut! the problem is im living with her at her mums place,and if i break up with her i have nowere to go! i dont love her as much as i did,she feels more of a mate now, i guess i just want to have my own place and be single and have fun so how do i do it?

After almost 3 years, it's normal that things would get kind of stale but when that happens, you have to try to get things going again. She might be feeling neglected and disconnected from you and may be trying too hard to keep you.

Talk to her and tell her that you feel smothered by her controlling behavior. Ultimately you teach people how to treat you. So if you let people control you and walk all over you then why would they ever stop if you allow it to go on? Put your foot down, try to find out what's going on and if you really feel you don't want to be with her anymore, bow out gracefully.

If you want to try to make it work, try doing some of the things you used to do together when you first started dating and try to reignite the joy and passion.

If you want to be single and have fun then do it but break up with your girlfriend first and move out. Don't throw away an almost 3 year relationship because of what you think your friends are doing. The whole "girls gone wild" fantasy kinda gets old after a while. They may in fact be miserable.

What does the following quote mean from The Scarlet Ibis?

If I remember correctly, the older brother helped Doodle learn things, right? And he's so proud of it

He said that pride is wonderful and yet terrible thing because it made him proud of himself and yet at the same time caused the life of his brother.

When Doodle failed him, he left him in the storm, thus, causing his death. And it was all because of his so called pride.

A seed that bears two vines, the life of his pride and the death of his brother.

REMOVE MOTH VINE (Araujiia hortorum) PITTWATER ECOWARRIORS 2

Moonflowers?


4 weeks ago I received 6 moonflower seeds from my mom. I nicked them and soaked them overnight, then planted them in peat pots and set them in a full sun location. After two weeks there was no sprouts so i pulled them out to check if they were rotten , they didn't seem to be, one even had a nub sprouting, so i planted them in the ground about 1/2 inch down and watered them once, then left nature to tend to them, thinking that would help. Another week went by and still no growth, so i pulled them out again because i'm impatient, lol. I only found the one with the nub and it wasn't any longer than when i planted it (animals must've got the others). It is still in a full sun location, well drained soil, but there is still no sprout coming up. I'm new to moonflowers, but have been very successful with different ipomoeas before. What could be wrong? My mom has several vines growing so i don't think the seeds are bad. I love these flowers and want them sooooo bad, please give thoughts.

Next time nick them and put between paper towels and keep wet a few days til you see the sprouting, then plant! I had morning glories and moon vines alternating along the fence, it was beautiful!
