and it's perfect for my room... but not my bed. Is there something very similar to this that comes in a size twin? I want a bright yellow with a stylish print (not old lady floral ) and can't find anything yellow!
Off-whites and buttery yellows will not work with my room's style; something as close as possible to the Simply Vera poppy comforter would be great. It's such a bummer because I wanted bright yellow with the orange/red accent too... Even better if you can find one with a little red. Mostly yellow though.
Hope someone has better luck than me!

Do you like this one or is it too gold? Google "yellow bedding" for lots of choices.
I'm getting a new Labrador Retriever puppy. I already have one named Daisy, and I was hoping for a cute flower name. I thought of Poppy for a yellow or black retriever (we dont know which color yet). Thanks!
White Lavender Tips I have a particularly beautiful female betta that I would like to breed...?
I'm very new to breeding but know all the rules and necessary requirements, such as proper conditioning and raising of the fry. I don't need lessons, because I've read many books but maybe some special tips with experienced folk would help. The female I have has a fairly white body with some lavender (pale purple) iridescence on the body but the fins are completely covered with this color. She has black eyes, and there's no noticeable particular fin type, like double tail. I would like to breed her with a pure deep red veil tail male that I have, but I'm not sure if her lavender would be masked by his red. He's not a cherry red but a deep dark red and has red eyes. I have other males, but I can tell that these two like each other a lot through their interactions through the glass. Would they be appropriate or should I choose a different male?
I would suggest you select a different male. Your female is called a non-red cambodian in IBC speak. Red is actually dominate over any other color in bettas and to cross her with a red will cover the majority of her color in the majority of the F2 fish. Further, mixing her with anything that has a non-white body will cover that white body / colored fins that make her a cambodian.
There are some clues as to the tail type that you ca make out on females. Usually, if the fish is from a typical pet shop, super pet store like SuperPet, PetSmart or from Walmart then she will be a veil tailed female. Some of these places do carry crowntails and sometimes have crowntailed females even if they don't know it. Usually a female carrying crowntail will have some short extensions on her tail and anal fin, but don't just go by the anal fin as these extensions on the anal fin can exist on any tail type, just usually a bit more so on crowntailed females. Double tail, half moon and such are usually very evident in females as they will strongly show the trait. Here's a double tailed female of reasonable quality
Can I dye/bleach a satin dress made of acetate, nylon & spandex?
I have a gorgeous cocktail dress I wore to a wedding a few years back. Its a satin fabric made up of 69% acetate, 26% nylon and 5% spandex. It's a light lavender/grey color. I had it dry cleaned right after the wedding but around the bottom of the armholes is a slight pink discoloration due to the deodarant reacting with the fabric. And there's a slight water/white wine splotch on another part of the dress which is only noticeable if you're really looking for it, but I definitely don't want to wear it as is.
Without dying it black, what else can I do to save this dress? Is there a certain type of bleach I can use to lighten the overall dress? Or a type of dye that I can use on this combination of fabric?
Any tips would be appreciated! I have a wedding to go to in less than 2 weeks, and the bride doesn't want anyone wearing black, and I don't want to splurge on a new dress during the recession....I have other dresses but I really wanted to see what I could do with this one.
Sounds tricky. The acetate requires a disperse dye, spandex takes a fiber-reactive dye, and nylon does well with an acid dye as is used for protein fibers. Neither the acetate nor the spandex can tolerate chlorine bleach, and other fabric bleaches aren't strong enough to remove the dye. Rit Color Remover might work to lighten the fabric overall, but no guarantees.
If you aren't able to wear the dress as-is, however, you've got nothing to lose. Get a nice darkish blue or maroon dye and give it a go. Worst that could happen? You get to go shopping!
Dahlia Mix Everyone with Lip/Cheek Piercings Please Click Here.?
Alright So I just got Dahlia Piercings (2 piercings in the corners of my mouth kinda like a mix between lip and cheek.) and Ive had them for 2 weeks now. I was told that the swelling would go way down within a week which it did with my right piercing. But on my left it has swollen even more than usual and has completely swallowed the piercing inside my mouth. I have to constantly push on it to make sure it doesn't grow over the piercing. And when I wake up it has kinda grown over so I have to shove it through till it pierces it.
Is this normal? Any advice to help it out more?
I don't think its Infected cause Ive heard you feel intense pain when it is and there is almost no pain at all.
Thanks for the Help
Go get it changed to a longer post.
Use ice, and make sure you clean it thoroughly and take good care of it.
Why is my florist afraid to work with these flowers?
At the end of July, my wedding arrives. I'm not a 'Bridezilla" although I ve been through three planners, 2 photographers, and now possibly, at the last moment a new Floral decorator...Why?...Because, after quite a bit of research, I settled on a designer who i thought would easily meet my expectations...I decicided on varied height centerpieces, using a array of summer blooms such as dahlias, Cockscomb, Peonies, Hydrangea, viburnum, asiatic Lilies, Garden Roses, and anything else that may be available the week of my party. The colrs are a mix of all shades of pink, orange, peach, butter yellow and chartreuse...But now my 'Hero" informs me that due to poor crops around the world recently he will have a difficult time procurring these types of blooms, in these colors...(However, he CAN get the flowers I prefer in shades of Lavender, Cinammon, Chocolate,Celedon and Hot pink) Interesting, these are the exact colors (minus the pink) that both he and my Fiancee suggested. What to do?
Well umm you sound a little like a bridezilla it is your fiancee's wedding too he should get some say, besides it is just flowers trust me nobody is going to care what everything looks like i guarantee they will not even remember what color flowers you had, they are there simply to get fed their dollars worth of whatever gift they bought you and leave.
Seeds Beautiful Color Beautiful mahogony colored seeds for seed crafters Who wants them?
The seeds are approximately one inch long and have tiny ridges from the middle to the outsides. I have checked on the internet and the only thing so far is the price which comes to $3.00 for the seeds and shipping. I can do better than that. There are not many places to obtain these seeds. We just happen to be one of the lucky ones. Does any know a firm who is interested for craft purposes.
Try Etsy.com. It's a selling site for crafters who buy from each other.

Beautiful Oils For Beautiful Skin: Making Your Own Formulas At Home
Have you always wanted to try the world's finest skin care product, but found the prices somewhat outrageous? Ever considered making your own? It's so easy to do, and you can create a formula precisely to match your skin type, with remarkable effective natural and pure botanicals (plant-based ingredients). Making these yourself will give you a skin care product that matches or exceeds the effectiveness of anything you can buy over the counter at a truly affordable price. Try one of these recipes and you may never go back to fancy labels, boxes and prices ever again!
Essential Oils: The Best Skin Care Botanicals
The heart of much of the finest natural skin care is made up of volatile plant extracts, otherwise known as essential oils. While some folks still see essential oils as some sort of New Age funny-smelling stuff, the truth is getting out: that essential oils really are medicine, and many of them are some of the finest skin care ingredients money can buy. There's even a whole bunch of scientific data to back it up (search pubmed.gov for "calendula" or "rosehipseed" and "skin" for example, and you'll see all sorts of papers). The essential oils make up the "active ingredients" of your formula, and the "carrier oils" into which they're mixed make up the "base". Creating a custom recipe is as easy as selecting a few essential oils and one or two carrier oils that suit your skin's particular needs, and mixing them together just as you would and recipe in the kitchen.
Rose is the Oil of Beauty
Again and again, in every natural skin care recipe book, one finds one oil more highly regarded than any other -- Rose Otto, the steam distilled variety of Rose (it is also found as an Absolute, which is more appropriate for natural perfumes). Rose Otto has a host of therapeutic skin care properties: it hydrates without being greasy, it's gently antiseptic, soothing to damaged skin, can heal broken capillaries, and supports the skin's natural metabolism. It is also the most important oil for women for its heart opening, anti-depressant action -- considered the "oil of the highest vibration" used in aroma-therapeutics. While a bit pricey, it's very potent; only a few drops are needed in any recipe.
Calendula: Nature's Healing Magic
Calendula oil has been used for hundreds of years for all sorts of skin care uses. Its exceptionally soothing, with the traditional use being for infant's skin care. The flowers have been hard to work with however, limiting the uses of this magnificent medicinal plant. A new extraction technique now offers us a Calendula oil concentrate, often labeled Calendula CO2. This new extract is highly antioxidant, powerfully wound-healing, and one of the most effective soothers of irritated or damaged skin available on Earth.
Companion Oils for Balance and Vitality
We'll also add something truly regenerative -- one or more essential oils that really helps the skin look and feel ALIVE. Three excellent choices are Rosemary Verbenone, Helichrysum italicum, and French Lavender. Rosemary has also been used in skin care for hundreds (maybe even thousands) of years. Cleansing and invigorating, Rosemary increasing the metabolism of skin cells (more nutrients in and more waste out). The Verbenone type contains a natural constituent considered by therapists to speed tissue regeneration, making healthier skin faster! Helichrysum is more potent than Rosemary as an anti-inflammatory, and regenerative, but not quite as stimulating to cell metabolism or as strong an anti-septic. Lavender is likely the most common of the regenerative skin care essential oils; its very gentle, soothing, balancing, and cleansing -- its also quite floral, so if you like earthier aromas, choose Rosemary or Helichrysum, if you enjoy flower-scents, go for the Lavender.
A final two essential oils with significant therapeutic action in skin care: Green Myrtle and Sandalwood. Both of these oils are considered highly balancing, bringing oils back to a healthy middle ground. Sandalwood is excellent for both oily AND dry skin, adding a pleasing, grounding, earthy aroma to your formula (it is quite popular in men's skin care too). Myrtle is astringent, tightening, antiseptic, and has a fresh, bright, herbaceous aroma with a lemony-twist.
Holding It All Together: Your Formula's Base
While the essential oils are often considered the "active ingredients", its important to consider the "carrier oils" are exceptionally therapeutic as well. For these recipes, we highly recommend the use of two very well-regarded tropical nut oils: Coconut and Kukui. Coconut has a very long history (thousands of years, actually) in skin care, mentioned often in Ayurvedic medicine. It is antimicrobial and hydrating (spanning the needs from the acne prone to the chronically dry). Kukui has similar properties, and remains liquid at room temperature -- allowing easy mixing and application of your custom recipe. These two oils have been used by peoples of tropical climes to care for the skin of the young and old, successfully, for so long -- and now you too can reap their benefits.
Rosehip Seed: Nature's Anti-Wrinkle Solution
Cold pressed from the seeds of wild roses, grown high and arid regions of South America, comes Rosehip Seed Oil, Rosa Mosqueta. A study done in 1983 at the University of Santiago, Chile, revealed the exceptionally therapeutic activity of this oil for smoothing the skin in every respect: it reduces wrinkles, smooths skin color, significantly slows further skin aging, reduces scar appearance and more. Rosehip seed should NOT be used by those currently susceptible to acne breakouts, as its ability to increase skin-cell turnover can exacerbate this particular situation. For everyone else, mixing Rosehip seed and the tropical nut oils creates an incredible synergy of effects. So lets mix up some of this beauty magic!
Putting It All Together for Your Custom Formula:
Ingredients: 1 dark glass bottle 30 or 60ml (1 or 2 ounces). Blue cobalt is beautiful. Brown is also appropriate. You'll want to use a dark colored glass to protect the essential oils. Also: 1 funnel, essential oils and carrier oils of choice.
To Mix: Measure into the bottle your essential oils of choice. Fill the rest of the bottle with the approximate amounts of the indicated carrier oils -- they need not be as exact as the essential oils. Spiral the bottle and allow to blend for 2 hours or longer. The scent will become more and more delicious over time. Use 2 x day on clean skin. Each recipe is for one fluid ounce of blend; you can make more by multiplying the amounts however many times you'd like.
Brilliant Beauty Recipes for All Skin Types:
For dry skin with smile lines: Rose Otto 8 drops, Lavender 12 drops, Calendula CO2 6 drops, based in equal parts Coconut, Kukui oil and Rosehip seed oils.
For mature skin with scars and smile lines: Rose Otto 6 drops, Lavender 8 drops, Helichrysum 6 drops, Rosemary V. 6 drops, based in equal parts Coconut, Kukui oil and Rosehip seed oils.
For irritated or sensitive skin: Rosemary Verbenone 8 drops, Lavender 6 drops, Calendula 6 drops, Sandalwood 6 drops, in equal parts of all three base oils.
For skin that is oily or combination: Green Myrtle 10 drops, Lavender 8, drops, Rosemary V. 6 drops, in equal parts of Kukui and Coconut oils only, no Rosehip Seed.
And there you have it: incredibly effective "mature skin" care blends for every woman. Once you make one of these yourself, and realize you may have just made yourself the best skin care formula EVER, you can experiment a little with one or more of the hundreds of essential oils available. Each has unique therapeutic properties that are highly compatible to our skin. Here's to your happy, healthy glow!

In the first decade of the twentieth century, several new gemstone varieties were discovered in Pala, California. They include kunzite, the pink variety of spodumene; and morganite, the pink variety of beryl. Kunzite was named after the famous American gemologist, George Frederick Kunz, who spent most of his career as the chief gemologist at Tiffany & Co. Morganite was named in honor of the legendary financier and gem collector, J.P. Morgan. In fact it was Kunz who suggested naming the newly discovered beryl after Morgan, who was Tiffany's largest customer.
Morganite belongs to the same gemstone family as emerald, aquamarine, golden beryl and bixbite. Among these beryls, morganite and the raspberry-red bixbite are the rarest. In fact bixbite is only found in the state of Utah in the USA. Morganite is not quite as scarce, but still counts as a rare variety.
There has been some attempt in the jewelry trade to change the name of morganite to "pink emerald." But this should be seen as just a marketing ploy to bring pink beryl to the attention of the public. The official mineral name for pink beryl continues to be morganite.
Like the other members of the beryl family, morganite is aluminum beryllium silicate. The source of the pink coloration is not well understood. Some scientists attribute morganite's color to traces of manganese, while other sources attribute the color to the element caesium. Morganite's color can vary soft pink to violet to salmon or peach.
In common with other beryls, morganite has very good hardness, with a rating of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale. Unlike emerald, which tends to have significant inclusions, morganite is usually quite clean.
Morganite is routinely heat treated to improve its delicate color and remove any yellow tones. Heating is done at relatively low temperatures (about 400 degrees centigrade) to achieve this effect.
Morganite deposits are found in Afghanistan, Brazil, China, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe and the USA (California and Maine).
